Q&A with... Stratos
Can you tell us a bit about yourself, Stratos? How long have you been with Eden?
I've been with Eden for three years now. I'm originally from Greece, so food has always been central in my life and career in London. I miss Greek cuisine, so I often cook it at home, but London’s diverse food scene lets me explore other cuisines, which I love. In my free time, I enjoy yoga, the gym, and recently took up hiking—nothing beats an IPA after a long hike!
What’s your role at Eden, and what does it involve?
Over the years, my role has evolved from an events-focused administrator to leading the Events department, managing a team, and overseeing the events staff recruitment. I love the variety of my role and the multicultural environment at Eden, with nearly 40 countries represented within Eden, which is rare for a medium-sized company!
What’s the most memorable event you’ve organised for an Eden client?
I have a few stories, especially stressful ones (no surprise in events!), but a memorable one was an event we organised for a Brixton church at Old Billingsgate. Our work is mainly corporate, so meeting with five Sisters and the church's councillors for a 4-day event with 1,000 guests daily was quite different. They ended the meeting by offering me cake and hugging me—so wholesome! The event itself was even better as it felt like it as I was part of a greater cause which was to help people in need.
What do you enjoy most about working at Eden?
The tastings - 100%. We change our menus seasonally and each new menu comes with a new tasting for the team, meaning A LOT of food to taste and score!!
Finally, do you have a favourite menu item, past or present?
Tough choice, but right now I'm really enjoying our Fable mushroom dishes. The vegan Fable curry with rice on the menu is definitely a favourite!
